    MULTI-DIMENSIONAL – SCULPTURAL ISLAND FORMS A CENTREPIECE

Kitchen designer : Celia Visser CKD/CBDNZ, Celia Visser Design (Auckland)
    Kitchen manufacturer : Laustsen Cabinetmakers

White on white – a sculptural island unit is the centrepiece of this sleek kitchen in a contemporary new house.

The island features a fine Corian benchtop that was engineered to accommodate an especially long span. Designer Celia Visser specified a commercial hood with twin motors to ensure the cooktop would be property ventilated.

A second working kitchen is positioned behind the rear wall. This incorporates solid oak shelving. As with the main kitchen, the splashback features an oak veneer.

A long entertainment unit on one side of the kitchen has a similar sculptural look.

    Definitely Yes!

For unbelievable light and spacious appearance, for intelligent allocation of centers and for edgy match of textures and tones with a glamorous chandelier!

Hollis designed the kitchen--which features a Boffi kitchen system and Gaggenauappliances-- as three zones. The first centers around the stainless-steel-and-Zodiac-stone island, which is topped by a custom beaded chandelier by South African company TeamTwo Design. This zone functions as a place for food preparation, cooking, serving, and socializing. The second zone is the clean-up area, and the third is the bar.

This is why we love French kitchens

This kitchen is full of light woods, grays, and blacks. We adore the contrast between the dark colors and the light wood. It has marble countertops, black hardwoods, stone tile backsplash, and a beautiful gold faucet. The kitchen island is absolutely fantastic, with its black accents and matching stool. The farmhouse sink is definitely a favorite.

ALL THE ELEMENTS – KITCHEN REFLECTS NATURAL LANDSCAPE
ALL THE ELEMENTS – KITCHEN REFLECTS NATURAL LANDSCAPE

Mirrored walls enhance the light, airy feel of this contemporary kitchen in a new house. They also reflect the view and landscaping. In place of a traditional splashback, there is a window looking into a courtyard. The bench is flush with the window, which is glazed to reduce ultraviolet rays and heat.

A Navlam timber veneer upstand appears to protrude through the engineered stone benchtop on the island.

The crisp, square-edged look of the cabinets reinforces the contemporary architecture.

Yes to this creative idea for a small kitchen and the dialog between styles generated by the designer!
                                                                  Really?

Steampunk design emphasizes a balance between the form and function. Like the Arts and Crafts Movement, this blurs the line between tool and decoration. Various modern utilitarian objects have been modified by enthusiasts into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style. The goal of such redesigns is to employ appropriate materials (such as polished brass, iron, wood, and leather) with design elements and craftsmanship consistent with the Victorian era, rejecting the aesthetic of industrial design. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SteampunkSteampunk is more and more present today in  bathroom design with shy features in kitchens, of course, except of this one.

    Incredible Modular Kitchens!

The designers integrated much of the kitchen furniture and space surrounding it with wall paneling and simplified the geometry of the space.

In most cases, for one to be able to achieve a modern look, minimalism is advised by designers, which is a good thing. In this picture we are able to see that the white modular glossy cabinets go well with the black island.

This lovely Mill Valley home in San Francisco is made up of pure beauty. For one, the island is painted with black, semi-gloss and paired with a white granite counter which complement each other and looks great matched with oak for the flooring!

According to the designers themselves, Pedini has been producing sophisticated luxury kitchens since 1956 and has prestigious heritage – globally renowned as one of Italy’s best style-experts on a par with Gucci, Armani, Lamborghini and Alessi – and one of the first companies to produce the modular kitchen. The company experiments with a range of new and innovative materials and is known for the flair and creativity that it brings to the industry, interpreting that the luxury segment demands.

Have you noticed the cool bar stools available to this kitchen? Unfortunately, the manufacturers for these stools are no longer in business but looking at this item, we can say it looks great with the Caesarstone counter that is present in the island. The exposed beams look fascinating too.

COMMAND CENTRAL – A BUSY FAMILY GETS A NEW KITCHEN BY TONI ROBERTS

Designed by Toni Roberts CKDNZ, this new kitchen in a renovated villa features an equal mix of good looks and durable functionality

The island features a layered treatment. Stainless steel provides a hard wearing work surface, while the timber element plays to the aesthetics of the wider space.

A sizable scullery provides additional storage and preparation and clean-up areas. The durable stainless steel and mosaic palette has been continued through from the kitchen.

The open-plan space is the nerve centre of the home. With this in mind, Roberts created an office hub where day-to-day planning can be carried out. A similar treatment was given to this space so it blends in with the kitchen.

This airy kitchen by Utz Sanby Architects forms part of a house that is cooled by passive ventilation. Clerestory windows and shutters vent hot air while the sliding doors bring in cool breezes at both ends of the open-plan space.

The blue-grey zinc panels on the island merge tonally with the off-white perimeter cabinetry – painted the same colour as the walls to blend in. CaesarStone for the benchtop and splashback was also specified in complementary tones.

The exterior cladding folds into the interior and can be seen alongside the stairs that lead down to the entry and bedrooms. Clerestory windows and glass louvres right around the room give the roof a floating appeal. -

The rear wall includes integrated refrigeration, a large pantry and ample storage. Seating for four is incorporated at the end of the elongated island.
